This is an item from a family member. It is about 25 inches in length and 31 inches tall in the frame. I am not able to find another picture like this through my research online so it may be a rare/scarce example. It is challenging to take the picture without anything reflecting off of the glass. The picture is in great shape for its age.

Is it worth taking the photograph out of the frame to see if anything is written on the back of the picture for provenance? I see nothing on the front that would show where or by whom it was taken.

Thank you as always for looking my friends and have a blessed day as well as upcoming weekend! :)

I suspect it is modern and not worth it to dismantle.

A photo of the back will help to determine if it is in fact modern, but the size of the print/ matting/ ID information all suggest modern TO ME.

Thank you for the comment and love of this item as well aghcollect. So if the picture is by Charles M. Conlon is there anything else you can tell by just looking at the pictures I posted my friend? That it is an original taken by him. I am very grateful for the information and appreciate it very much.

I cannot tell if YOUR picture is an original. I can only say that the original photograph was taken by Conlon who was a photographer that worked for New York City newspapers in the early 1900's. - There was also a poster print sold around the 1990's of this as a part of the "Charles M. Conlon Collection" - if yours is matted, it may be identified under the matting as such. You may have to remove from the frame just for curiosity sake.

Thank you my friend aghcollect. Once again what you shared is greatly appreciated. One more question. Would they have made a picture this big in the early 1900's? If not then there is no way this would be an original as scottvez says.

Based on the size - I would say it's one of the reprint posters.
