    This item is another in my scale collection. It's an old hanging beam scale with a large sliding weight. Stamped into it is; J. Beddows Warranted 250. Not sure if the 250 refers to the actual weight capacity or not but the increments marked on the beam do go up to 250. There also appears to be two different fulcrum points. Flipped over, the other side of the beam has increments up to 60. Original color appears to be red. It measures about 26" OAL.

      Interesting. I have an Australian one of these called a steel yard, but pronounced still yard that looks very similar, with the two fulcrum points. I belidve it was locally forged.
