This photo was given to me as a gift by a fellow who sold me a brace-back chair (see my previous posting). There's no date or name for the young woman - just an embossed stamp of the photographer: F. Adams Photographic Artist.
It's possible the photographer could be Frank Adams but there's probably no way to know for sure without a signature or date. According to some research: "In June 1912, itinerant photographer Frank Adams travelled northeast through central Nova Scotia, making class portraits at the small rural schools along his way. School photographs have been the subject of only passing critical interest to historians, yet they are eagerly collected by local historical societies who use them as key tools in their efforts to imagine the pasts of their communities. Despite the wide circulation of his photographs, Adams himself has been almost entirely forgotten."
I really like the bit of string at the top of the card mount and the way it loops around the back through two holes and is tied nicely into a bow. You'll also notice the girl seems quite young (mid teens?) and yet is wearing a wedding ring... a different era to be sure!
The card mount measures 6.5" x 10" and the photo is 3.25" x 5.5".
UPDATE: Thanks to mcheconi, and the info they provided in comments #8 & #9, for solving this mystery!

Alan, I've been trying to figure out what she's doing and I think that she's arranging a ribbon with flowers on it to tie onto her hair. I would sure like to see that photo as well.

Actually this photo can be attributed to Frank Adams for sure. This is his mark on the corner of the picture frame. You can check it here, page 144:

The weird thing is that the PDF you supplied the link to is the same one that I pulled the quote from in my post description; but I never thought to scroll down into the photos to see if there was an embossed stamp matching my own. So thanks again for connecting the dots for me.
