I bought this 14k gold ladies watch at an auction and am desperate to get any information on this watch/bracelet before I give it to my wife for our anniversary. My watch guy tuned it up, but told me it was likely make by a jewelry designer, not a watch manufacturer. Thank you !!
Joseph Boillat Fils
I'm sorry, but I should have been more specific. I am attempting to find out more about the jewelry designer, just in case someone has seen a similar design. I am familiar with the watch portion. Thanks for your reply.
It looks to be the same craft that mourning hair jewelry was made although I would think it is not hair looks to be a cord of some sort -nice!
I have worked in the jewelry industry buying and selling estate pieces. This appears to be a hand braided gold center with the outer edges of the bracelet being rope chain(which may have been added later to protect the more fragile hand braided section). I noticed the name Joseph Boillat Fils you can google his name to find out more about that particular designer. I'm guessing this could be circa 1940-1950's? Good luck and I'm sure she will love it!!!
