This is a total mystery to me and the one I liked least at first....to the point that I thought of messaging 'Don't send it'. Now I find it fascinating. The glass colour is indescribable and like nothing else I have. The screen image is a reasonable representation of its colour.

What looked like dimples turned out to be regular bumps, regularly spaced on the internal surface. It has a polished rim and amazing iridescence. This one has a few light scratches near the neck.

The photos are not inadvertently rotated. The flash is disabled but still I've had to resort to using the carpet as a background in an attempt to absorb unwanted glare.

Pic.2 the 'dimple effect is reflected on to the carpet.
Pics. 1&2 I'm trying to show how it seems to have 'dimples'.
Pics. 3&4 I'm trying to show the pink and green iridescence.

The décor is referred to as an "inverted coin dot", or an inverted thumb print". Interesting vase.

What is it that makes the glass shines like rainbow? Beautiful!

What a great group you acquired....see...clever!
    8. sklo42 sklo42, 10 years ago
Hi Elisabethan, the maker puts an iridescent finish on it at the end, but I don't have the technical know how to explain it.

I think you over estimate me, Karen. I'm still very pleased with them.....I was amazed they got so little interest!

Hello,I`m a glass collector from Poland and this is my first comment here, but I always start my day with Show & Tell .I`ve been following all the posts and items for a couple of years and find it so inspiring and educational.I`d like to direct you to the site :aukro.cz/obrovska-doza-sklo-krasny-100-let-stary-kus-i5036483161.html,where you can find very similar item.It might be helphul ,I guess.Sorry for my English,I`m not native.

Hello Ivonne, Welcome to Collectors Weekly. I too started with following Show and Tell for a long while before I posted anything. Your English is good, better than my second language..... French! I followed your link but it said the page was unavailable . I did find the section 'Sklo and Keramica' but nothing exactly like the vase here. I hope to hear from you again, perhaps even posting your glass!

Perhaps you try aukro.cz then" sberatelstvi a umeni" next "starozitnosti" and finally "sklo" and a number of auction 5036483161.It`s not exactly the same vase but a big covered box with the same decor (to me).I`m computer literacy but not advanced.I `ll ask for help my children when they`re home and try to post some of my collection

Ivonne, antiquerose.....the link came up 'show an item......item not found' in English amongst code type stuff. I searched all the glass and did find a domed amber cover for a plate of cakes/sandwiches. Is this what you meant?

    19. sklo42 sklo42, 10 years ago
It is indeed the link Ivonne. Also it seems to be made in the same way as my vase with bumps on the inside surface. Does the listing state the maker.....obviously I can't read the text! Thank you for continuing until you succeeded:-)

Thanks kivatinitz.....I don't what it is, hence the conversation above. Perhaps you may recognise it.

Hi Peggy. What a lovely surprise! It's gorgeous! Love it's shape & iridescence. I can imagine it could look quite dull in the wrong light. Your photos make it look great
    27. sklo42 sklo42, 10 years ago
What a lovely comment, Fran, thanks. When it was still in its bubble wrap it looked completely green!!
    28. Vintagefran Vintagefran, 10 years ago
Green! How strange. Does it have a slight green hue? it's gorgeous, I'm green :) again.
    29. sklo42 sklo42, 10 years ago
Multiple layers of bubble wrap, lawn and trees outside the window, perhaps a combination of the two. The box and myself were on the floor below the window sill level. No green hue normally, but the iridescence is green! I've no idea! Hope you're having a good weekend. Peggy

Hi Peggy. Are you still no nearer finding anything out about this beauty? It's a shame, I really love this one. With its iridescence & dimples it must have some lovely colour play. I bet it looks great in real life!
    32. Vintagefran Vintagefran, 10 years ago
A good weekend to you too:)
    33. sklo42 sklo42, 10 years ago
It's with the Art Nouveau stuff and seems right, to me anyway, so it doesn't bug me. I do agree it's a nice one. Have a happy Valentines day.
