This is a Picture Frame made by My Dad. It is true Tramp Art as my Dad was with the Royal Canadian Air Force ( Ground Crew ) but it was made during that time when they would have some down time during World War II. He said he carved piece by piece when he had the time. Since it was done piece by piece -- he knew -- and wrote on the back that there are 72 pieces to this frame.
I remember sitting on his knee as a kid and him telling me about. He used to tease me and tell me to count all the pieces in it. ( LOL ) That kept me busy.
Anyways, thought I would share. Love it and am proud of his skills. Proud that he served this Country. I keep this very near to my Heart as a memory of my dad. This is a very Personal item for me......
++ R.I.P ++
Thanks
Thanks Phil for the comment and the love.
My Dad had also built a 6 bedroom bird house (after the war) with shingles he cut to size, separate rooms, doorway, dual Pillars in the front, siding on it, painted it. It was a real show stopper for a hobby/craft. I do not have any pics of it as my brother has it after my Dad died. He really enjoyed that.
I am not sure -- but maybe my Dad made that rust colored Chair I posted a while ago -- as I am sure he may/could have
Hi

Truly Folk art it is .... I see this kind of frames , many time in my travel around Quebec.
The way the corner decoration was mastered was proof of great talent from your dad, stunning memory to share.
