Like new, "viewmaster" of 1939 Worlds Fair on Treasure Island, San Francisco. Still works, in great shape!
This fair was the third world's fair in San Francisco, and was the west coast celebration of the opening of the engineering marvels of the Golden Gate Bridge, and Bay Bridge. The entire island was man made, and included the first parking lot for such an event, for the many motorists arriving. The man made island, that could accommodate ships, ferries, and seaplanes for arrival, was intended to be re-purposed after the fair, as a public airport. However, the island was seized by the navy as a shipyard after Pearl Harbor. Only recently has the island been open to the public, and is now owned by the City of SF, intended as a park/multiuse location. The very art deco "airport" administration building still stands, and can be seen in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, as the CGI enhanced Berlin Airport!
