1960's Strange Change Creature toy by Mattel

One of my childhood favorites, and definitely ahead of its time. I guess this was the male equivalent of the Easy Bake Oven, letting kids play with an electric toy that heats up!

This came with square waxy pieces, that when placed into the "changer" would unfold into dinosaurs, monsters or robots. Then, you could "reheat" the character, smash it in to the re-molder vice, (yes, a vice) and it would sort of kind of look like the original square, to be re-used. Of course, it never compacted the same way, so you always needed new squares!

Shocked it wasn't re-issued for Jurassic Park movies! But I guess we don't give our kids heating toys like in the 1960's!!
