I recently purchase a number of Heisey glass bobeche's at a local auction. Inside or laying in each of the bobeche was the metal ring you see in the photographs (2,3,4 ). Is it something that is supposed to be in the bobeche? If so what is it's purpose? Is it some sort of wax catcher? Is it an item used to arrange flowers? Looking forward to reading all the reponses. Thank you.

I appreciate the input. Not exactly sure how it could hold flowers. and all the flower frogs I have seen were glass. Why metal and would flower frogs be placed in the bobeche? Thanks both of you. Has anyone actually seen this type of item and if so what was it's use. Thanks again for the quick comments.

Thank you ladies due to your insight and knowledge additional research does infact confirm this metal item to be a form of a flower frog. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
