I purchased a Windsor chair with this on the bottom, what does it mean? what is the origin and age of this chair? I know nothing about it. I thought it was very unique with that extra piece on the top.

CindB, thanks for the info. The picture of the one you said is just like my chair, it doesn't have that extra piece on the top. That is what I find very unique about this particular chair. I have searched and searched and cannot find one exactly like it. Any other suggestions? Thanks Again!

Hi CindB, after doing some more research I found that the chair is 1938 Nichols and Stone piece. I was made from wood harvested after a hurricane, from the trees that had fallen. I learned this from the N & S website. You were right on when you said Nichols and Stone. So with that, should I use this chair or just keep it for looks. Any idea what it might be worth? Thanks again for all your help.
