We just added this cool old 1949 Studebakers fuel delivery truck to our collection today. We already had the fuel delivery tank for the back but lacked the right vintage truck to "haul cheap fuel" to the farmers in the area. Yes we will probable spruce it up a bit as Spring arrives, but for now it just looks pretty cool sitting next to the signs and the old Texaco Station not far away. The truck came from a collector friend in Salt Lake and the fuel tank came from a collector in Riverside Idaho. We think they fit perfectly together. It remains true that the fun really is in the hunt, as once one finds and purchases their new/old items the work then begins. In this case we loaded up our flatbed car hauling trailer and made sure we had the chains and tie downs etc and raced off to load the old truck up. Once we arrived and got in position to load the old truck on the trailer I realized that my old age had tricked me one more time! I forgot the loading ramps!!!! Yikes! What next? Fortunately my friend just happened to have his own wrecker which he used to load the truck up on to my trailer. Awesome!!! Getting it off was no problem as we had the ramps at our location and easily pulled it off with our bobcat and put it in position. We love the old look and it also reminds my wife and me of her dads old furniture delivery truck he used when we first got married. It also was an old Stude Truck. They ran the old flat head six engine and were very dependable, but not very fast on the highway. We hope you like the collection and recommend that you check out more of it on aaalakesidestorage.com and go to the museum button to see a variety of pictures of different cool collectables from aircraft to carousel horses from the forties and signs and gas pumps from the teens thru the fabulous fifties. We luv collecting cool old things!
