Here is just a part of a wonderful exciting find that was discovered inside a wall of a home being demolished. A box was found with a large group of photos personal effects and this scrapbook related to a former LAPD Officer and his brother who both were cops during the early part of the 20th century in Los Angeles. This Scrapbook is full of wanted and missing people photos and description police articles related to both officers and events they were part of as well as things that took place in early LA. The first photo shows a dedication to a high Ranking Officer killed in the line of duty the 2nd photo actually is off his killers wanted poster. This contains amazing photos of the time as well great details and newspaper clippings and articles the book is full of them.
This must be a fascinating read! Great find.
Yes Racer I also have 3 of their actual daily log books full of amazing journal entries that date from 1909-14 as well as passports and photos etc. The entries are amazing over a few hundred from Murder, petty crimes assault with deadly weapons robbery etc.
These little personal mini-time-capsules were such a fun and popular thing from that era. With the decline of newspapers these days I wonder if people 100 years from now will be finding old hard drives loaded with text and photos in the walls? Would have to take them to the Smithsonian to read them though, if the drives are still even working!
