Hi everyone,
I have this elegant, bird-shaped, black-enamel-on-leaded crystal bottle with inset yellow eyes enameled on its stopper.
The artist's hand-engraving is evident, as it sets out the enameled areas and completely defines the face shape of an iconic fowl. It is made of thick glass and weighs 15 ounces, and stands 6" tall by 3.5" at its widest measurement. The stopper and bottle are a perfect fit.
I am flabbergasted at the unusualness of this bottle! Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you.
very beautiful!!!!
It looks Czech. The black overlay reminds one of KAREL PALDA, but many firms in the Haida and Steinschönau area did work in this style. Parrots have long been a form used for decanters. But I've not seen anything like that stopper.
So cool , i love it ;-)
