My 'Sitting Lady'. I bought years 25 ago in NYC flea market. Have found detail on E. Ingraham mark, but cannot learn of this items history....? Style Gothic? Made from cast iron...does not appear to be bronze? Hmmm? Thanks in advance for any shared knowledge!
I haven't run across very many Ingraham figure clocks. I imagine that the base is cast iron and they statue and clock tower are probably bronze finished Spelter. I don't know that for sure but use of finished Spelter was very common with American Clock Manufacturers. I can't find your model in my references but it is a very nice clock. Perhaps another clock collector can be of more assistance. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Thank you!
I have figured out it was made in 1885 from the printed face markings. But did not find any images via: ingraham figural clock with woman - Google Search*
I did note on face edge: pat mark 01 76. And an what appears to be a penciled or scratched in mark on the back noting: OH 3/11/50 (or) 30? Perhaps a previous owners ID? I'll be bringing to be restored to working condition (leaving Patina) and will post back with any other new details and an after image.
Perhaps "Overhaul 3/11/50" ?
