I try to collect authentic antiques as much as possible but sometimes something like this comes along that's too good to pass up - and is usually less expensive and more usable than the real thing. This was a Thrift Store find for $15 and I was initially fooled by it, thinking I had stumbled across a treasure until I saw the brand name on the front.

The tuning dial and Bakelite-looking knobs are very well done I think, and with the CD player inside it's useful and surprisingly even sounds good. It's made of MDF wood with a plastic-wrap tactile wood grain texture - but even that is deceptive until the lid is opened!

The closeup of the dial in the last photo shows a date of 1934, but of course this is just for reproduction purposes; I'm not even sure if this is an accurate reproduction of an authentic radio. A label on the back indicates it was manufactured in June 2005, so perhaps an antique in the fast-paced universe of electronic technology!

    It measures 12.5" wide x 8.5" deep x 8.5" tall.

Yeah, and a quality build and really good weight as well, which is highly unusual and surprising for this brand... the logo of which I hope to remove from the front!

Kydur, I'm sure it can be removed easily enough. Don't blame you for wanting to remove it though.
