The one on right (black trim) is definitely a Welz shape and has a stippled tool mark at base (not shown). The one on left is a more interesting and involved shape and - I initially thought - was classic Kralik.
The left-hand vase has been formed in a mould (ribbed towards the rim)and then the rim has been cut and shaped before the (blue) trim was applied. It has the same stippled tool mark on the base that the Welz vase has (photo 4).
What does this all add up to? A conundrum and, I would say, a Welz/Kralik stand off that may not be resolved but I am tending to Welz for both, despite my initial "gut".
The two are 23 and 24.5cm.
A lack of a pontil mark, either snapped or polished, would point strongly in the direction of Welz for the maker.
Very nice, Ian. I really like the form of the one with 'petals'.
