I bought this desk at an estate sale for $5.00. It was a mess, but structurally sound. The piano stool has been sitting around here
for years. Both had been painted over and over again. So I stripped what I could off both. I primed and painted both, with Sea Mist (Chalk ) paint.
I couldn't figure out what to do with the stool until I got the desk. I am
happy with the way they came out. The piano stool actually has brass legs with crystal ball under the claws. Anyway I was able to find the piano stool on e-bay. But the desk is a mystery. It has two cubby holes on top with covers. So I think it was an inkwell desk, except that the holes are square and not round. Can anyone tell me the date of this desk and what it's purpose was? Thanks for your help in advance.
I like the feet on the stool. I would have a go with the sand paper for a little more shabbiness.
Thanks for the love, I am just starting out at my refinishing. I was thinking maybe I should have gone for more Shabby and less Chic myself. (Next time)
I love feet on stool i would have bought it just for them.
