i'm not sure what this is called, but i like it. it's a beautiful design w/ great color and texture. Signed 'NF'. there's a little written note on the inside of the frame which says 'Garden $85'. The frame is especially beautiful and well-made. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

It's a great piece of machine applique and embroidery. I love the fabrics in it - so 60s-70s!

Jean Ray Laury wrote and traveled extensively. Many people worldwide created her designs or pieces in her style over several decades. I'm pretty sure what you have is a piece created by a student or admirer.
could be cynthiawenslow. she lived pretty close to me here. the frame on this is also really, really nice. the piece looks just like the pieces she was making in 1970.
