This is a very unusual piece. It appears to be very well made, though there is no makers mark. The cover, which has a handle, screws off and shows an address of the Lasserre Restaurant in Paris. (Lasserre is a very highly rated restaurant, 4.5 stars, and $$$$ on Yelp. I have sent them an email, and will post the info if they reply.) There is also a mark on the handle, A595 stamped in and which appears to be a serial number. The handle has simulated rivets, and overall the piece is very detailed, and appears to be almost a scale model rather than an advertising piece. It is 2" overall, not counting the chain, and the pot itself is 1", and I cannot find a manufacturers mark, nor can I find a comparable on the web so far. If anyone has seen one of these before and knows more about it (especially time period), I'd love to hear from you!
Ok, with a little more research I found that these were souvenir pieces. I saw some porcelain, and some metal, but none yet like mine.
Update: I got a very nice response to my letter to the restaurant, and I posted the French original and the English translation above. It sheds a bit more light on it.
