Everybody ( or Anybody ) ....remember these.

We had one and it seemed to come out when I was home sick from school in those days. The MAGNAJECTOR was basically a Toy Projector for Kids. It Magnified pictures placed underneath it. They were first made in the 1950's by RAINBOW CRAFTS INC of Ohio. That is the same company that invented and distributed "Play -Doh."

I remember putting pics we made or whatever -- and projected it on the wall ( or screen for that matter). It is all done with mirrors and light.

The PETER-AUSTIN MFG Co mark are the ones made in Canada, and the distribution of these and many other toys from the USA. From what I recall, the body is made of Bakelite.

This one is in working order but does have a crack on the side. But with it being 50 some years old, stuff happens.

Anyhow, hope you enjoyed -- and MAYBE you had one?

    Thanks for looking :-)

Hello: I don't remember these back in the day, but purchased one at a rummage sale late last year. I just looked at mine, and it says "Project-A-Scope", and "GladStar" on the sides. I have not found a use for it yet, but is has a place in my "what-not" pile now! lol! Thanks for sharing yours.

@Izenglish - Is this the kind you bought (a Project-A-Scope) ? Think the same difference as mine

      http://www.awmok.com/2010/06/19/brumberger-project-a-scope/

I ran on-line they are still Great today to use for wood working as you can image and trace an image.....or use for same thing for Quilting....and I guess even if one wanted a certain pattern or saying put on the wall ( Eg. Live, laugh, Love) you could use this.

I image there are a few useful uses for it even in today's age.

      i-phones can't do everything...LOL

Hello "antiquerose". Yes that is it, except it says "brumnerger", as opposed to GladStar. It seems there were allot of other Company hands in the cookie jar for this particular design! Thanks for the great ideas for use, and the great link as well!

Your welcome....still a few uses for them.

I wonder IF they would work for old (film) Slides too? If you did not have anything to show those film slides on....Might work for that too??

Hi Zowie: This "Basic Design Principal", is kinda like the overhead projector's used in School's for years. Probably why it rings a bell for you?

Exactly remember when we had to put up block out curtains so that we could watch these flicks at school. It's making me feel my age.
