Went to a few yard sales the other week and came across this table. It was being used to display items for sale when I spotted it.
Though this item is not very popular with collectors, I find it quite fascinating. Back then the game bridge and other card games were common among households. Coca-Cola saw this as a great opportunity to advertise. They produced various packs of cards, score cards, and even a card table that people could purchase at the bottling plant for $2.00. This table is made of cardboard w/ red wood legs. Its amazing that it lasted this long. It still has the original ads on the underside.
Well being so interested in this table I asked the owner if they would sell it. He gave me, in my eyes, a great price of $15.00. Today I am a very happy owner of a 1920 coke card table. Not easy to display but a great addition to any collection.
Wow, super find. I don't think I've ever seen one with the original corner protectors. You'll find the right place for this outstanding piece.
You sound so proud good for you that's what it's about not always what others think it's what you enjoy.
Deal me in!
CokeKid, I'll raise you 10!
Nice find for $15. I've seen one in an antique place in town going for over $100. It is in much worse shape.
Edisonfan, "going for" means asking price. Now, what it sells for is probably entirely diff. .
I'm with Efan, this is the nicest Coca-Cola card table I've seen. Petretti valued at $175 in 2008. So fifteen is an outstanding deal. Full House.
Wait a minute,,,yard sales?? In Feb.?? In Canada?

Not in canada and more of like a church junk sale
What day did summer come to Canada that year?
Canada's like Michigan, so it would have been a Saturday...
Little slow Daddy, but you got there.
Slow AND I flubbed my line. Canada's like Michigan, so it would have been a Monday. (Nice weather never falls on the weekend.)
Well Daddy, since Thanksgiving is one month difference "up there", you might be a full month off! Now , since Ink's Xmas is a day+ from us, we can consult her & really confuse ourselves! LOL!
