These are cigarette silks (like the cards but are on printed on silk) ,
Ive had these quite a while now , they were picked up at a boot sale for 50p with other things i a small box!!
Theyre bright & colourful "even the monalisa dont look too grumpy"
Im not sure on date but must be 30s - 50s ish ..
the only others ive seen are as national flags...
    hope you like them :-)

There are a couple of ladies I recognise, and a couple of maybes, is it possible to make the photo larger.

They are really great, I love their faces. I'm afraid I only recognized the Mona Lisa and Joan of Arc. The young girl in the third photo has such a pretty face.

Another question, what type of fags were they with, they must have been pretty upper class. I was to young to remember these. I do remember number 10s and 6 you only got cards with them. Thankfully I'm not a smoker now, but if they started giving these lovely things I might start light up again, lol.

    19. surfdub66 surfdub66, 10 years ago
Maybe kensitas !! There were a few firms doing these in the first half of the 1900s in UK & Canada apparently :-) sd
