Dollprotec…
(1 item)
I have been trying to find out some info for this girlie so I can find suitable hair replacement. Having just gone through chemo myself, I know how it feels to be bald! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation, Amanda
Looks like it was made from an old English cannon powder bag.
Oh wow! How exciting! What do the markings mean?
Never saw that material on back maybe blunder is right . She is about a 1940's doll and would have had a mohair wig . Does not look American made and also not sure if that is original body ?
That's the English broad arrow and the 60 Pr would probably mean a 60 pounder gun (60 lb. projectile). It was a 5 inch gun. The R & the L on either side of the broad arrow are correct. Neat!
My guess was 40's by her clothes, but I was confused about the body markings, but that's so exciting she is different. Could it be she is made up copying an original body/ or has a different head on her than was original, I thought the cuter face dolls were earlier. Her hair appears to be fixed to a paper that has been stuck onto her head also. There does nit appear to be any markings on her head unless I remove the rest of the paper, and also remove her head from the body, but it is a neat and tight fit. Any other info that would date all the components? Thanks for the mohair wig suggestion, I will look into it! Thanks guys for your help!
Mani, what does a "mo" look like? Years ago, I thought about raising them for the hair but couldn't find a breeding stock supply. Ran into the same problem finding breeding stock for naugas for their hydes. Both seem to be a really closed groups of breeders!
