These were specialty item made to distract that 90 yr. old relative with Alzheimers while you push them to the bus station to put them on the bus you bought a one-way to the west coast, the day before! Very hard to find as most were worn out & scrapped. The eccentric front wheel prepared them for the bus ride. Any other questions?
Okay... too bad we can't share videos so we could see the tool in action..... the up and down thingy could be interesting..
Probably something for farmers long before they had 32+ row planters...
Dan, do you have a sense of humour? LOL!!
I think blunder has it!
A larger photo would help
Oh Willso, welcome to CyberAsylum, aka CW.
I think can be an antique field tool, an old planter.
Larger photo's needed .It look like a piece is missing on top ?
Could be some sort of sead spreader or possibly sprayer for crops!!
Blunderbuss2 l.m.a.o ....... ;-)
Guess I could have been easier on an FNG & break them in easier. Naw, not my style!
Only you bb2 lol !
Mani, never been accused of being subtle, modest or sane. Hey, that's what my family used something similar for. They pinned the ticket on my shirt & left me next to the bus.
your lucky you weren't on my bus!!
I think you have missing parts because it looks like an old row planter.
Should have had a hopper to drop seed as the platform goes up and down. It is adjustable. Also needs a wife to push it and a husband with a whip to keep things moving.
Hey Sean! I fit right in on the left coast & seemed normal to everybody. LOL! The only person we aren't hearing from here, is the poster! Hey, FNG, where are you? Did I scare you off? maybe his 1st experience with a runaway poste.
Now, my opinion, is that there was a hopper topside that the eccentric wheel shook to disperse more seeds. (That or the wheel was made by relatives in AL). Possibly my cross-eyed nephew from my 1st cousin "marrying" my sister's daughter.
Fhr, re #15, we need to get together over a few brews! LOL! Poster still hasn't joined the party! Hope they aren't ill! Who could ignore this?
I doubt it's a planter. I agree, too bad we can't post videos - it might prompt
other ideas.
Glad you could join us willso. If you don't think it is a planter, you possible have reasons? No mud on the wheels? Share why you don't think a planter is right. Knowing our crowd, we will probably ignore anything you say anyway! LOL! I can see the planter idea as the Alabama made front wheel would shake seeds & keep them moving. Only my web footed cousin would think of that! Maybe an Irish mine detector?
Petey, if you let a relative push it, they will find a bus real quick! Just be sure they don't take the bus fare out of your pocket or you get to the W(acky) coast short on cash! Listen to experience! I've been thru it 3 times but found out where they hid my "9" so they won't get the fare out of MY pocket next time. LOL!
Could be a good way to get rid of the unwanted youngsters in the family tree, Petey. Do you drug them 1st? Agh, they are probably on enough of their own!
I think I had one of these, but the wheels fell off and the metal rusted away
Hotair, was that on the way to the bus station? You're lucky!
