Sometimes I buy odd quirky things because they appeal to me (no great finds today). This large clay pot is from Salvation Army. It was sitting on the window sill with a smaller piece of native American Acoma pottery. Obviously someone tried their hand at imitating the native American look. I'm under no illusion that this is anything but an amateur art project. It's 11" tall and about 12" in diameter with two tiny handles on each side. The bottom shows sort of a pinkish clay and very clean with no signature or marks. The decoration is only surface painted and some is chipping away. The top rim has been cracked and glued. Like I say it's odd and quirky. Even my friend said "Oh we made these in art class at school" ...but I like it for what it is or isn't. :) -Mike-
Thanks CindB :)
My garden is full of things I like for what they aren't. We'll said Mike!
Thanks Karen :)..... My motto has always been" Buy what you like and you'll never be disappointed ".
I am so NOT knowledgeable in this arena... First thing that came to my mind was something you see in Antiques Roadshow... :) I really like it.
Thank you Dr, Fluffy :)...... Me too. I hope I get my tickets because they're finally coming to Cleveland this summer. I have so much I could take. This piece though, I really think is just someones art project .
Mike... ME TOO... I am trying to get to the one in Arizona. :)
