Found at a flea market. Does anyone know anything about this? There are no markings. It looks like the Paramount Building that used to be in New York City (?). I would love to know the manufacturer as well.
I know it has swag!
Thank you for your comment!
Wow, this is gorgeous! I like the thicker spray of stars midway up the pattern - perhaps a reference to the Milky Way.
I don't know what this is supposed to depict (you may be right about the Paramount Building), but I did notice the "building" in the centre is asymmetrical on both sides. Right away it reminded me of the Tower of Babel, which is often shown as a building that is constructed upwards in a spiral, in a sort of inverted cone shape (cf. Brueghel). But the one on your compact could just be an abstract representation of "skyscraper". Or just maybe it represents a stylized mountain. (I don't think that's likely, but I'm throwing it out there because if you're trying to research it, you don't want to exclude any possible search terms.)
Either way, I hope you keep this beauty, because it's exceptional; and I also hope that if you do find out more about it someday, you share it here.
rhineisfine,
Thank you for the wonderful comment! I think that it reminded me of the Paramount Building as I saw it on stationary at one point. I will surely add more information if I find any in the future. Once again, appreciate the comment/input!
Take Care!!!
It's certainly possible! I did a web search on Paramount Theater ephemera and found these - as you may have done already, of course:

I will remember this listing, and if I ever spot anything that might help, I'll come back here and post. Good luck on your hunt!
rhineisfine,
Thank you! Yes, I remember some of those images!
