I always loved watching Dark Shadows as a kid and I love this magazine. Little did I know that a strange twist of fate would link me with a character on the show. Peter Turgeon played Dr. Dave Woodard on the show at one point. He was the doctor that found Vampire Barnabas's diary and was killed by Barnabas in one episode. I purchased the above painting of Cornelia Nell Egan, "The Green Lady" a year or so ago. Doing research I found out that Peter Turgeon once owned the portrait of the Green Lady after his friend, Cornelia Egan died. Nell willed her home in the Hamptons, NY to Mr. Turgeon and he inherited the painting. I spoke to Mr. Turgeon's daughter on the phone and discovered that she had sold the painting after her father's death. She called the painting the "Green Lady" also!!! She told me how exciting it was to have her father acting on Dark Shadows and how she used to hurry home to see the show after school. The painting looks like it could have hung on the wall in the Collins mansion. I love to watch my Dark Shadows DVDs with the "Green Lady" staring down at me. It makes it even more creepy!
How circular is all that!
Cool magazines these.
I wish I still had all of the magazines I had as a kid.
I adore Dark Shadows, can hear the theme music now!!!!
That is why I think this all is so cool...to me it is unreal that I ended up with the portrait.
Barnabas is my favorite vampire. I watched it after school too. Watched the whole series on sci-fi when they showed it.
