This monster vase (35cm) has a very alien look to it I think.
Green into amber glass with silver inclusions is normal for Tusgaru Beauty Idro .
It's the size and shape! BIG, and from a round base it grows menacingly to the three pronged neck.
Something from Day of the Triffids?
Love it......Beautiful colors!!
Awake early again Rose? And you can read and think at early early morning!!! Hope all is OK.
Thanks....it is more appealing than I made out.
I once coughed up something very similar.
Sorry Karen, just yanking your chain. Love this one despite the questionable colour combination. :-) W
I'm with antiquerose on this...the glass looks like an interpretation of the plumage of a thrush...very delicate and pleasing. Do you have any idea of its age? Peggy
I know you well enough to not take offence there W!
Thanks for the yank, the backdown and the luuurrve.
Thank you polite Peggy!!
In fact this is not very old - maybe last 10 years or so. Tsugaru Beauty Vidro still make this design (don't you love their name?!). All made for local sales however - I bought direct from Japan - and the Japanese are pretty keen on this style.
Do find that it moves around the house from day to day ?? :)
It does, it does! At first I thought it was the kids but now I have find small drag marks. I think the little pod I found under the chair yesterday might morph into another any night soon. Strange whipping noises have been heard in the early hours and I worry that if it's not a triffid it is from the Little Shop of Horrors instead. What should I do Mike? I can't break it based on a premise, but if I leave it we might be in imminent danger!!! What to do...what to do....remember Japan has spawned lots of creatures....Godzilla, Anguirus, Mothra, King Ghidora, Gigan....it never stops!!!
It's definitely a very cool looking vase!
You could lock it in a cage.....Just keep it away from radiation sources :)
Love this one!!
LOL Mike!
Thanks Cindy, Scott ad Lee. Despite my ravings it is a pretty nice piece of glass, and I appreciate you all seeing and commenting on it.
This is just the sort of thing I like, great vase. :)
Why thank you Miss Katherine!
