I'm so happy with my new acquisition. What I can tell you about these earrings:
Pair of earrings made in 1880s of beveled rock crystal sphere's and movable suspensions. Made in Idar Oberstein, Germany.
(Gemstones from throughout the world are to be found in Idar-Oberstein, but the whole industry was begun by finds in the local area. These include agate, jasper and rock crystal).
I like the crystal clear color and very beautiful hand cut suspensions.
Total length 5.5 cm. and set into blackened silver.
And now I'm going to look for an antique rock crystal necklace. The one on the photo I already have is vintage.

I love rockcrystal! Lovely pieces you're showing here. I have pendant with rockchrystal posted a year ago, and a ring that needs ;) to be posted. Rockcrystal has been used for a long time. I have a museum references book showing jewelry with rockchrystal from the 1500's.
