Alford "Rip" Van Ronkel was an actor and writer known for the movie "Destination Moon" 1950. He also wrote with my cousin, playwright Anne Nichols. He worked with her on the radio version of "Abie's Irish Rose." An actor named Richard Fancy played him in the 2006 movie called "Hollywoodland" about the death of Superman actor George Reeves. Alford "Rip" Van Ronkel lived near Anne Nichol's actress sister, Evelyn. He sent Evelyn the hand-drawn Christmas card pictured and drew her a penciled portrait of himself. The photo belonged to either Anne or Evelyn Nichols. It was so cool to see Mr.Van Ronkel portrayed in the movie even though it was a very small part.
