This piece is by Pat Cheney.
Pat Cheney studied in Fine Art in Falmouth College of Art. In 1976 she launched Pat Cheney jewellery.
Line and balance of form has always been an important element in her designs, many of which show the stylised influence of Art Nouveau and Deco. This is why I am begining to collect some of her work, she is a very talented lady, she paints on silk, ceramics and designs knitwear. She has won numerous awards.
On the first photo I've tried to show the colours of the enamel under a light, it's not brilliant, but it does give you a idea of how the enamel changes colour.
She sold her company in 1990 to Ortak Jewellery.
This piece is really striking with bold colours, I love it. The measurements are 77mm total drop x 47 mm wide, and weighs approx 16 grams. It is stamp PPC and 925.
Wow, first when I saw the post, I thought it was a painting, until I saw the second picture with the back. It's stunning....

Apparently I read that people still come from abroad to study in UK the art of silversmiths, enamelling.

Yes, I would to, it would be so interesting. But here on CW we have are own enamelist in Kyra.
Thanks Kyra, it does look good with the silver chain, I need to get somemore vintage chains, the ones I want are quite expensive.

Thanks Phil, I'm begining to collect some work of Pats and there is a Scottish jewellery maker called Norman Grant, I have a piece on my forum a silver pendant with two Swans on a agate back ground, usually his work his enamel. I don't think he makes jewellery anymore, he is a consultant at DeBeers.
