So today we went to our first Auction at the new Cowan's Auction house in Cleveland, OH. We walked out with some very nice glass. This one is a keeper.
Continental, early 20th century. A Loetz iridescent purple compote with ruffled rim and four-footed brass stand, marked Loetz / Austria on bottom; ht. 11, dia. 8.5 in.
Some wear to base and glass consistent with age, missing one vertical bar from base, one bent.
Antiquerose, I am glad you were able to access this information. I agree it isn't easy to find. Once we have corrected some of the inaccuracies in the Loetz signatures article, I guarantee it will be easier to find the next time you search for it. So stay tuned!
Rindskopf not Loetz. But very beautiful.
