Porcelain Lamp-Italian and Old

Hi there. I was given this this super ornate lamp, am trying figure it out. I started trying to get some info on it, but all it says is "Galdi" and "Italy" It's got a really old school electric plug and I know it worked a few years back. Any thoughts? Almost "perfect" with some slight lightening up on the gold lines on the handles, and the electrical wiring should probably be checked/replaced. Looks original, I'm thinking the 40's?

It's about 20" high, 24 with the light bulb receptacle, 14" from handle to handle, and about 12 inches round at the base.
