    racer4four
    (586 items)

I have a number of pieces of Tajima Crystal (as the sticker reads) and generally most of it is brightly coloured and heavily textured.
This little sweetie made from clear glass with lilac inclusions is different from most Tajima I have seen, but is just as appealing.

It sits on my windowsill at present with some Studio Strombergshyttan and a piece of unknown Japanese studio glass.

Tajima Glass Japan was established in 1956 in Tokyo by Matsutaro Tatsuta and is still in production today. In the 60s they made a lot of coloured, textured and hot worked glass, and this style is what was mainly exported. Today their focus is on Edo glass (handmade in the Tokyo style) and Edo Kiriko glass, which is certified Japanese cut glass in the Edo style. Most of their production today is for domestic consumption.

Thanks Fran. I know it's not to everyone's taste but that doesn't worry me.
