Here is a wonderful set of miniature antique baskets that are a mystery. When I purchased them they were said to be Native American baskets from Maine.
One expert I asked said they were not Native American. I asked another expert if they could be African and he said they were not from Africa.
One basket is a little cricket cage. One is blackened pottery with rush weaving on the outside. The black and brown one in the middle with finger size weaving that goes from top to bottom feels like wood or a hollow hoof.
I would love to find out where these little works of art originated.

They're Asian, a mixture of styles from Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and possibly Japan. Not sure where they were made, but Indonesia would be most likely.

Thank you so much CanyonRoad! Would you have an idea of age? Are these types still made today?

Yes the little box is very old wood with a great patina. The baskets fit perfectly inside. Thank you for you comment! Wouldn't it be wonderful to hear the story of how all these came together!?
