This pretty little thing was found last week. I don't know much about Mexican silver marks but I believe it must be before the eagle mark was introduced, dating it to 1940's or earlier.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks for looking:)

What does the mark say? I can't make it out. If it says Alpaca, it;s modern coin silver. I have a few similar pieces posted, but with Mother of pearl instead of the stone.

      Thanks for your comment, upstatenycollector.

The bracelet is not marked Alpaca. I have some pins and brooches with this mark and, although they are not sterling, I still like them because of the craftsmanship.

The bracelet I posted has the following marks “hecho en mexico”, plata, 925 (at least that’s what I think the numbers are) and something that I cannot decipher.

It was marked "925" in the store but I learned that items are sometimes mark like that and they are not sterling. Just the other day I saw a ring marked 925 and the copper was showing! I guess everyone makes mistakes sometimes:)
