I have recently inherited the gravy boat with a really distinctive pattern as per the attached photos.
On the base is Victorian and Johnson Bros England.
It is 8" long x 2.75" high (20cm x 7cm), and has a gold edging, gold radiating rays from the sun and gold outline to clouds
I've researched as best I can and understand that 'Victorian' relates to the colour of clay between 1913 and 1920 and not to a pattern.
Unfortunately (for me) I can not find any other example of this pattern .... A half a radiating red sun and clouds which I find really very attractive.
Please help ..... I'd like to know the pattern name, when it was in production and if there is any more of it around..... there is none for sale in Ebay or Etsy or the many other auction sites I have trawled.
    Thanks in anticipation

If you have the time you can scroll through all the Johnson Brothers patterns at replacements.com

At replacements.com, I didn’t find anything with sun in the name, so search Johnson Bros gravy boat and scroll through. I did up to page 25 for you, and found nothing!
Your mark was in use since 1913, so may be from the actual Art Deco period
      Good luck!

Many thanks for your emails Mary1956. I followed up your thoughts and went through pages 26-75 whilst eating my breakfast and also drew a blank.
As Johnson Brothers are now owned by Wedgewood, I've emailed their museum to see if they can help.
If anyone else has any thoughts, they will be gratefully received. Thanks again Mary1956.????

HaHa! I’m wondering if it was a custom piece, part of a restaurant set? I know Doulton and Wedgwood did some hotel/restaurant wares, but don’t know about Johnson Brothers. You can check with Steve Birks at the potteries.org, and he also has a link to the Staffordshire Pottery Museum

      Hi there Mary,
Just got another bit of info from Replacements Ltd

"Your pattern is identified below. You will receive a listing of any available pieces in your pattern, along with their prices, within 24 hours.
      Manufacturer: JOHNSON BROTHERS
      Pattern Name: JB1252
      Pattern Code: JB JB1252
      Piece Name: Gravy Boat
      Piece Code: GRN "

Their follow up email said that no pieces of this pattern are currently available.

I'll follow up your suggestions and let you know how I get on.
      Thanks
      Steve
      THE QUEST CONTINUES

All quiet on the research front. No one I've been in touch with has ever seen this patter and no one can direct me towards getting any other pieces. If anyone can add further information, it will be gratefully received...... Otherwise the dead end has beaten me!
