Can you make out the first word?
Second word looks like manufacture?
The design is identical to the Yale 800 series lock. Perhaps this company or Yale copied or where partnered on this lock.
Have a google search for;
Yale Lock Mfg. Co. padlock Yale #800 series
Could first word be "British".

Is there anything on the other side of the lock?

Could be a lock from Enoch Pinson LTD, Dale Works, Willenhall

Thanks everyone for the comments. It does say British manufactured. I am busy treasure hunting around an 1875 boer farm house, just south of Johannesburg. Does anyone recognize the logo?

It's a Enoch Pinson model 311 brass padlock built in 1938 ????
