OK Collectors help me out on this beautful baby, or should I say baby Stroller!!!!
I got this in an Indoor garage sale from a house going up for sale afetr a death, (estate sale). I paid $15.00 dollars. It had the name "Gendron" on it and me living in the burbs of Quebec like Arcade Fire, I thought this was French Canadian made.
Then I wiki'ed gendron and found out that they were a 19th to 20th century company that made Wheel chairs, Hospital gurneys, and moved onto baby strollers after all the wars were over and peace was in the air.
Originally Gendron Iron Wheel Company based in Bryan, Ohio, and then moved to Toledo Ohio and became gendron Inc.
What is cool about this one, in spite of the metal frame, and collapsable velvet weather cover in perfect detail, this is NOT for babies, but is in the size and scale for a 5-8 year old to push and its a DOLL Baby stroller.
OK, so I know the basics, but I had some burning questions:
1- WHAT YEAR is this MADE? I mean who could afford to buy a stroller this nice JUST FOR DOLLS? and how much would have this cost. My guess is that it looks to be anywhere from very late 1940's all the way up to 1970's. It would help knowing what decade it was made for when I sell it.
2- It has a fabulous super clean white daisy pattern vinyl interior. I have no idea if this is original, OR if somebody installed it after the fact. Its is installed perfectly with no flaws. I could be recent, but I have no clue. it matches the white lace. I wish I could put more pictures. go to boutiqueretro.com if you are interested in more pics and want to know more.
Anybody who can answer 1 or 2, please do. have a great week collector peeps!!!!
