Found these behind another picture, so this is actually the back of the frame. Need help identifying the person. Not finding much on C. Roberts so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated..
Thank you
Can anyone help me with identifying the artist or where I can start to look?
I have an original acrylic painting of the two ships that you have! I went searching today because I love it dearly and talked a guy down to 40 bucks as I was leaving my home town for the first time.
I purchased it in Durango, CO and have no idea who owned it before me. I would like to know too.
I have the exact painting of the boat. Thinking its a cheap knockoff for decoration
Hi All, I have recently received new information. My C. Roberts gallery linked above shows the works of Corean Roberts, my Grandmother, who lived in Western Oklahoma and the Eastern Texas panhandle, and painted many oil landscapes from the 1950s through the 1970s.
I have had many emails inquiring if another C. Roberts is my grandmother. This other C Roberts painted oil paintings in the 1970s but is not Corean Roberts. This other C Roberts is described on Flickr as a "popular artist" who apparently sold through Sears and Avanti studios.
I've been shown many paintings of a tree-lined path with two people walking down it, away from the viewer. The palette is fall oranges, yellows, and browns. This scene was painted many times; I have many versions of this same scene, all original and by this other C. Roberts.
Over the 2012 late-year holidays, my father looked at some of these and said they looked familiar! He also mentioned that there was a 'pre' and 'post' C Roberts era, and that my grandmother had created and sold an unknown number of paintings resembling the path walkers and another popular scene with two roundish owls in a bare tree, painted in greens and sometimes the same yellow/orange/brown palette as the tree walker scene. I cannot confirm at this time if this was indeed Corean Roberts.
If anyone has more information, feel free to email me at astrojr1@tx.rr.com or visit my web site http://www.jodyroberts.com/CRoberts.html.
Thanks

i own a oil painting with the one pirate ship with a red and white flag flying on it how much is it worth it is signed c.roberts
Not my grandmother's. She didn't paint ships. The signature matches that of the "other" C. Roberts. I think the signatures are sufficiently different as to not be that of the same person, even if they intentionally painted different signatures. Thank you all who have emailed me about this. I'm about to update the web site again with the additional pics I've received. If you have any paintings by either of the C. Roberts, please post here or email me pics to astrojr1@tx.rr.com
Thanks
JR
I also have a painting signed C Roberts but it's of a conquistador and I know it's not by Corean Roberts. I've been searching for info for years about who this other C Roberts is and I've come up with nothing =(
