Had not had a dune buggy since my boys were little so I put a ad on Craigs list. Got a few responses but fell in love with this one. It had came out of Arizona about 18 years ago. Out there it ran a aluminum Buick V8. Now it has a 1600 bug motor back in it. It's titled a 1966, built sometime in the 70's. The guy I bought it from rebuilt it 15 years ago. Fun little toy.

Yea i had so much fun riding in them, my stepdad and his friend made these out of vw and used the motors for them ,on one of them it was made with a hard top made out of fiberglass.. boy i miss those days.. thanks for sharing the pictures

Vontrike, When I was 17 me and my girlfriend drove her vw to Florida on 18 dollars of gas. But on the way home it broke down on us in Chattanooga, Tennessee and her and I hitched hike all the way back to Indiana. I went back and towed that car home with my mustang. Come to find out the mechanic broke something and jimmy-rig it before we left. I guess we were lucky we got as far as we did before she broke down. I will never forget that as long as I live. Your car just made me think of that. Thanks for sharing.
Wow,,that would be a trip you would not forget,,but a great memory.
Thank God we didn't get kill back then. People were different bac then. Several people picked us up and they were all nice. I would be afraid to do that now a days.

I'm not sure that my stepdad has anymore parts but maybe he knows someone that has a car laying around to sell or get the parts off it, I'll check with him and see.. it may take a couple of days..

Thanks Toyman, I am lucky to have a wife that lets me have my toys. She told me that I can not use paycheck money, so I buy and sell to support my addiction. She sometimes will surprise me with a bike or box of parts to complete one. Yes, life is good.
