This is the most substantial ring that was gifted to me by a dear friend who I had done work for, for years. I'm a contractor and Azalea had me do everything that needed done on her home for many years. I really like this ring because the coin pictured may be the rarest $2.50 gold Indian ever minted by the U.S. Mint. The mint mark location is obscured by the gold and the way the ring is made (the little letter "D" for Denver is located on the reverse or the "tails side"). In order for me to find out if this is the rare 1911-D (D stands for being minted at the Denver Co. mint facility) The ring would have to be destroyed in order to find out if it's the "ultra rare" 1911-D and I just have not had the desire to destroy this beautiful ring that was made in the 1930's and weighs a massive 23+ grams. (pushing 3/4 ounce of gold) The ring is 14k and the coin is 22k. A very nice piece from a very nice lady who ended up giving me several nice pieces of jewelry because she had no children and her husband of only 4 years was killed in world war two in France. (Battle of the Bulge) I only wear two rings. One on the ring finger of each hand. This ring occupies my left hand. I absolutely love it.
