Tydol Appears at Lakeside

Today was a really special day as the big Tydol-Flying A sign was finally stood up at the entry of AaaLakesidestorage.com in Provo, Ut. We have had the sign for a while and just couldn't decide on the right spot to display it. This sign came from the residence of an employee of the Tydol Company back in NJ. We purchased the sign from the daughter of the person who was theemployee sometime after his death a year or two ago.
The original owner is said to have loved the old porcelain signs and when he saw them just laying around and getting destroyed at the work place he hauled them home and stored them on his barn. By the time we heard about the place all of the smaller signs were gone and this big 6' heavy sign was about all that was left. We were thrilled to find it in pretty good shape and have just been waiting to make our final decision on where to stand it. The pole it is on was actually the one custom built to mount the little Bede 5J on, but when we decided to mount that on the Sinclair Gas Station it left the big heavy pole without a good use so we decided to just make it a Banjo Pole and mount the Tydol on it. The fun was not only in the hunt but was also in the display of this beauty! We love this beautiful sign and it fits right in with the rest of the collection just fine!
