This helmet was actually used in Vietnam, and was brought home to New York in 1970 and stored away for years. The original Mitchell cammo helmet cover is dated 1968 and has the original soldier's artwork on it....a hand flicking off the viewer . The elastic helmet band is attached, and looped through it is a grenade pin.
This vet also returned with two North Vietnamese Army flags as souvenirs. The flag with the star is the standard NVA battleflag, and the other is a Communist party flag. Each flag is about 2'x3'. This is because the Soviet Union were allies with North Vietnam and supplied them with much equipment, besides indoctrinating them with their ideology.
