This beautiful green "Bone" vase is often attributed to Per Lutken of Holmegaard because he designed the first vase in this style in 1952. The Per Lutken design did not include the controlled bubbles in the base and was never put into production. Aseda Glass, of Sweden, produced this vase in the 1950's - 19677.
Aseda produced many items with this heavy paperweight type base. Bo Borgstrom, a famous mid-century Scandinavian artist, joined Aseda in 1961. Later Aseda merged with other important Scandinavian glass houses, but in 1977 the operations were shut down.
Good to have it with a label dj. This must be one of the most copied glass pieces ever. Lots of them made around Europe and Japan back then, and now totally copied out of China.
Thats good to know! Thanks racer4four. I had no idea. Such a noob to glass.
