Here's a little Art Deco Valentine's Day eye candy. The red teardrop bakelite and chrome photo frame is from the Dura Company of Toledo, Ohio. It was designed by Kurt Rettich, circa 1933. The teardrop frames come in four sizes: 5"x7", 6"x8", 7"x9", and 8"x10", and I've seen them with red, black, and green bakelite bases. The red version seems to be the most rare, and this one is the smallest 5"x7" size.
You can check out other Dura frames in my collection here: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/22012-art-deco-dura-photo-frames
The photo is offset by a pair of Machine Age aluminum candle holders, and an Art Deco chrome and red enameled bud vase, circa 1930's. The manufacturer of the candle holders is unknown, but the bud vase is most likely part of the Evercraft giftware line of the Everedy Company.
stunning!!!!
awesome photo and love the display!
I REALLY love this!!! Love the photo also and the candle holders and bud vase! This is the kind of stuff I really go crazy about. Who is that in the photo? 5 Stars for this one!!!!
I don't know who is in the photo. It's a reproduction photo that I recently bought on Ebay out of the UK. I think it goes great with the frame.
WOW...
