Northwood did make several "___ & Cable" patterns for various fruits. They were first made in crystal with gold and other stains before being produced in carnival glass. The 'Grape & Cable' pattern was one of the early 'cable' patterns from early 1900. Here's a link with an ad for the Grape 'Embossed' Whiskey set from 1912 (close to bottom of webpage):

Thanks TallCakes, I did see that one. I was leaning more towards more info though.. :)
I still can't seem to find any info on this set except what tallcakes and I found on the old ad. Still would like one of the glass experts opinion please.... :(
there's not much better info than an ad which accurately describes the items that matches what you have here. H. Northwood & Co. introduced the 'Grape' (OMN) pattern c1900 in crystal, and made the pattern in carnivals glass around the same time. Fenton reproduced some pieces of the pattern in the 1920s. Not sure what additional info, short of an original catalog sheet, that you may be looking for.
Thanks Tallcakes, I just wanted to make sure that it was actually Grape and Cable by Northwood. I see that all the info I find for G&C Northwood shows under "Grape & Cable with Thumbprint" almost always. The bottle doesn't show thumbprints but I believe that the glasses have little ones around bottom..
The OMN (original manufacturer's name) for the pattern is 'Grape'; AKAs for the pattern include 'Grape and Cable' and 'Grape and Thumbprint' and 'Northwood's Grape'. Not all pieces exhibit the thumbprint; the butter lid is one form that does have a thumbprint motif. From what I can tell this is a Northwood piece. BTW, I don't claim to be an expert but do study EPAG quite a bit and base opinions on that.
does look like there are tiny thumbprints around the bottom of the shots.
OK, I just had my mother look at the set closer. There are Northwood marks on ALL pieces, the decanter and the shot glasses, they all have the "N" in a circle with line under them.
that's great! glad your mom was able to settle it : )
Thanks for the help and feedback TallCakes :)
I finally found some info on this set!! It IS Northwood. I recieved an email back from CarnivalHeaven.com and she sent a 1912 Butler Bros. Wholesale Ad. This is what it reads.
GRAPE "EMBOSSED" CRYSTAL WHISKEY SET
New design that is particularly attractive.
C1994
-9 inch blown decanter, bright crystal, grape cluster and leaf embossed, gold rope collar and band tops, six 3 oz. tumblers to match. 11 inch heavy crystal tray (this is NOT in the grape and Cable pattern). 3 sets case. 30 lbs. Set 75c
You can view the ad and the unusal tray that came with the set on the Carnival Heaven website toward the bottom of the page. http://www.carnivalheaven.com/carnivalglass102/id246.htm
** She also noted this >> With Regard for the 1912 Butler Bros. showing the HOLIDAY TRAY - a COLOGNE BOTTLE - and six 3 oz. SHOT GLASSES: Very clever marketing attempts exhibited here! The “new design” referred to is directed towards the Holiday Tray we believe, since Grape and Cable had been in production since 1910.
Note: Perhaps those Whiskey Decanters were expensive and difficult to produce resulting in few sales, ultimately leading to discontinuance. An over-abundance of Shot Glasses in stock would need to be eliminated. There may have been a few too many of those Cologne Bottles in the stockroom, as well? Result?.........Use those items to promote the new Holiday Tray, which has only been found (on rare occasion) in marigold. Probably not many of the trays were produced, but they offered the opportunity to clear out some excess stock of Grape and Cable!?
@TallCakes I found it !!! Thanks :)
