I don't have a lot of history on this it was given to us as we had a death in the family. They also were not given any information.
I have tried to read the back of the necklace to get as much information as possible., But it is very difficult to see. I believe I was able to make out PEC on the back for Pectoral.
I have looked for images everywhere of this necklace to find out anything I can. No luck!

    Please help if you can.

In terms of a pectoral cross, I've never seen one marked (pec or otherwise). I'm more inclined to think that the mark you're looking at is indicating ep (electroplated gold). It is a pretty cross. Look on the clasp of the rope, does it have a mark (it might be tiny). That may also help you determine if you're dealing with gold or gold-plate (assuming that the two came together and weren't combined later). My gut says that it's value is primarily sentimental. The stone is small and many fine jewelry pieces are marked just 10K/14K/925/etc and (if anything) include a few relevant hallmarks/maker's marks. I don't normally see a lot of writing on fine jewelry pieces, unless it was inscribed to someone. But, again, that's just a rule of thumb. Using a magnifying glass to more accurately read the mark would be helpful. A macro lens on a camera can sometimes capture it too, but that's skill/equipment that the average person doesn't have.
