Hi
Everyone.
I found this very old Mortar and the Pestle at my local SA last week, very well done in Brass, decoration let me think this from early nineteen century.
Usual those pharmacy item are reproduce for decoration purpose only, but this one was use a lot on is life, show lot of wear inside and the pestle for crushing medecine as being hit more then often, i really enjoy when i found this one, and usual at the SA price this is even better.I am so happy when i flip this over not seeing Made in India or even worse Tawian
The only marking a see on it, was the number 10 on the pestle and number 8 at the bottom of the container.
This stand 5.25 tall on a 3 inch base, 5.75 top opening weight 63 oz(3.15 Pound)the pestle have a measurement of 10.25 inch long, very use on both side.
I am open to any comment on it....:-)

Hi Alan, I think this one is 2nd half of 19th century. I have a couple in my collection too. Could be from Germany, it's north-west Europe style
