I can't read the signature, but you can see it fairly clearly in the third photo. It's a very beautiful piece. i got it at goodwill for $10 this evening. The signature looks like it begins w/ an E and ends w/ an IN, but i can't be sure. i bet someone will recognize it right away!
it also says on the bottom the following: 1996 L-5, V58301. 225/500.

the piece is 9 inches tall by 5" wide - more or less. thanks DrFluffy and Sean68!
to me it looks like it's iridized and sandblasted
at 10$ I would definitely say it's a good investment, 225/500 probably means that it's number 225 out of 500 examples of this design.
